Job summary

AST SpaceMobile seeks a detail-oriented CFRP Manufacturing Technician to support aerospace composite production using Toray prepregs and autoclave curing. You will operate CNC routers, perform bonding prep, and assist startup activities for a growing facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on composite manufacturing experience, preferably aerospace.
• Experience with Toray prepregs and composite layup techniques.
• Proficiency operating CNC routers and basic CAM software interfaces.
• Familiarity with bonding prep methods and adhesive handling.
• Knowledge of autoclave operations and curing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform CFRP layups using Toray prepregs per work instructions and drawings.
• Operate and maintain CNC routers for trimming and drilling composite parts.
• Conduct bonding prep including cleaning, abrading, masking, and adhesive application.
• Set up and operate autoclaves and ovens; monitor cure cycles and parameters.
• Perform curing operations including vacuum bagging and thermocouple placement.
• Assist with equipment installation and startup activities for new facility.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document production data.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and improve processes.
