Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado seeks a Fluids Analyst II to perform high‑fidelity fluids analyses ensuring SRM performance. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing and test teams to support development, qualification and production programs.

The ideal candidate has CFD experience with ANSYS Fluent/CFX or StarCCM+ and a strong background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, plus the ability to read drawings and test data. Mentorship and documentation are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of fluids analysis experience for aerospace components.
• Proficient CFD using commercial codes (ANSYS Fluent/CFX preferred).
• Strong background in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specs and test data.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-fidelity fluids analyses to ensure SRM performance and reliability.
• Use CFD to model steady and transient flow in SRM components.
• Develop 1D models of fluid behavior and validate with test data.
• Identify design improvements and support cross-functional teams.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Mentor peers and contribute to continuous improvement.
