Job summary

Epic Aircraft, a Bend, Oregon-based aerospace manufacturer, seeks a Certification Engineer to lead certification activities for Part 23 Utility Category aircraft. You will develop strategies, prepare compliance documentation, and coordinate regulatory submittals with FAA and other authorities.

You will evaluate design changes for compliance, support service documentation and post-delivery changes, and participate in regulatory discussions to determine appropriate certification paths.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace engineering, certification, regulatory compliance, or related disciplines.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 23 airworthiness standards and interest in aircraft certification processes.
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to clearly document engineering findings.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Support certification activities for Epic's Part 23 Utility Category aircraft.
  • Develop certification strategies and prepare compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate regulatory submittals and evaluate design changes for compliance.
  • Support certification-related service documentation and post-delivery changes.
  • Participate in regulatory interface activities with FAA and other authorities.
  • Assist in determining appropriate certification paths and means of compliance.
  • Travel as required to support certification and validation activities.
