Job summary

Ampaire in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer for Aircraft Systems Certification. You will own systems engineering, requirements management, and FAA engagement for Part 23/33 certification. Lead documentation, responses, and negotiations with the FAA while coordinating with the CTO and certification teams.

The role focuses on managing certification processes, verification/validation, and flow-down of requirements with the engineering team at Ampaire's Long Beach HQ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 8+ years of aerospace experience or FAA Part 23 project background.
• Expert knowledge of Part 23-64, G-1/G-2 concepts, and compliance matrices.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical responses to the FAA for Part 23/33 certification projects.
• Create documentation for requirements, means of compliance, and verification/validation.
• Review FAA feedback and prepare responses for certification discussions.
• Negotiate requirements and flow-down certification across the engineering team.
• Support V&V efforts and resolution of novel technology with the FAA.
• Coordinate with CTO and Director of Certification; work at Long Beach HQ.
