Job summary

Niostech Global is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of cargo-loading Power Drive Units (PDUs) for aircraft systems. The role combines electro-mechanical design with simulation-based assessments of motors, gears, shafts, bearings, and related components.

You will convert operating conditions into defensible analyses, drive design improvements, and support cross-functional reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical design, CAE or electro-mechanical product development.
• Hands-on proficiency with Abaqus or Ansys Mechanical.
• Experience with static, nonlinear, modal, fatigue, and transient analysis.
• Strong understanding of load paths, stresses, and failure modes.
• Knowledge of gearboxes, shafts, bearings, cams, actuators, or similar drives.

Responsibilities

• Lead PDU mechanical and electro-mechanical design, analysis, integration, testing, and qualification.
• Define critical load cases for normal operation, angled ULD contact, and jams.
• Develop and validate assembly/component FEA models for load paths and bearing reactions.
• Analyze gears, planetary gearsets, shafts, bearings, rollers, cams, cables, and housings.
• Perform static, modal, fatigue, and transient dynamic analyses as required.
• Prepare CATIA assemblies and submodels, define connections and boundary conditions.
• Verify models by hand calculations, convergence checks, and sensitivity studies.
• Plan test correlation, lead failure investigations, and cross-functional design reviews.
