Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Fabrication Operator I to join the Carbon Brake Team in Santa Fe Springs, CA. You will assist in carbon brake fabrication, set up hydraulic presses, and learn MES data entry while adhering to SOPs and safety rules.

The role offers second shift, onsite work, and comprehensive benefits. Candidates should have a HS diploma or 2 years of experience and be a U.S. Person with the ability to obtain security clearance.

• Must be a U.S. Person
• Ability to obtain security clearance

Responsibilities

• Learn steps of carbon brake fabrication process for loading/unloading carbon composite preforms
• Apply phenolic resin to carbon fabric
• Use handheld scanners to track all parts
• Precisely measure with standard instruments and scales
• Gain proficiency in MES to enter data at fabrication steps
• Follow SOPs, WI, and part drawings
• Communicate mechanical or safety issues to supervisor
• Learn to operate forklift and/or Big Joe to place preforms on pallets
• Use basic to intermediate computer skills
