Job summary

Rubbercraft in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I – Calendaring (1st Shift) to set up and operate calendaring equipment, monitor material thickness and quality, and maintain accurate production documentation in a safety-focused environment.

You will work with primers and adhesives per work instructions, support continuous improvement, and ensure materials meet specifications while keeping production on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; calendaring equipment and rubber processing desirable.
• Experience with measuring devices such as calipers, rulers, thickness gauges, tapes, and scales preferred.
• Experience with primers, adhesives, coatings, or chemicals is preferred but not required.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical, automotive) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Company’s Mission, Vision & Values.
• Operate calendaring equipment to produce material rolls per routers and specs.
• Ensure materials meet thickness, width and quality standards.
• Prepare, mix and apply primers/adhesives per instructions and safety rules.
• Maintain material identification, lot traceability and documentation.
• Read and follow routers, travelers and quality docs; perform in-process inspections.
• Keep calendering area clean and safe; assist other departments as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and submit OFIs when appropriate.
