Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) seeks a Buyer to support indirect spend and production programs from our Graham, KY location. You will manage supplier RFQs, POs, and Kanban, while coordinating with engineering teams to source materials and services.

The role requires 2–5 years in procurement within Aerospace/Defense, knowledge of FAR/DFARS, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems. Strong communication, detail orientation, and travel up to 10% are essential.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Finance or Business; 2–5 years tactical purchasing experience in Aerospace/Defense.
• Experience with low/medium volume procurement (R&D) to production procurement.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government procurement documentation requirements.
• Proficient in MS Windows – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.
• Detail oriented, able to multitask, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to travel 0–10%.

Responsibilities

• Handle indirect and direct supplier purchasing, sourcing, and delivery of materials and services for Graham, KY operations and engineering development teams.
• Create and manage supplier RFQs, Purchase Orders, and supply Kanban systems.
• Assess supply base capability, source suppliers, perform risk assessments, negotiate, schedule, and manage PO activity to ensure on-time delivery at total cost.
• Serve as procurement representative on new product proposals with Proposal/Development Engineers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for purchasing, storage, and transportation of materials.
• Develop procurement cost justifications per CPSR, FAR and DFAR.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers and internal customers.
• Work independently on multiple projects at a tactical level.
