Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Buyer to manage direct and indirect purchasing for Simsbury, CT operations and Engineering Development teams. You will handle supplier RFQs, POs, cost analyses, and supplier development while ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with CPSR, FAR, and DFAR requirements.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in a related field and 8+ years of aerospace procurement experience, with strong MS Office skills and the ability to travel 0–10% as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Supply Chain, Finance, Business) is required.
• 8+ years of tactical purchasing or related Aerospace/Defense experience.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government procurement documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Procure indirect and direct materials, support supplier sourcing and delivery for Simsbury, CT operations and engineering teams.
• Create and manage RFQs, Purchase Orders, and supply Kanbans.
• Assess supplier capability, perform sourcing and negotiations to ensure on-time delivery and total cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with Proposal and Development Engineering as the procurement representative on new product proposals.
