Job summary

GMRE Inc. seeks a Buyer / Procurement Specialist to plan and execute material purchases for defense and aerospace programs. You will own requisitions through receipt and closeout, balancing cost, schedule, quality, and compliance.

Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Inventory, Finance, and Program Management to maintain material availability and audit-ready files, escalate risks as required, and operate with delegated authority.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of purchasing, procurement, or supply-chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace, defense, electronics, or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions, BOMs, drawings, specs, and sourcing requirements before placing orders.
• Negotiate price, lead time, delivery terms, and other commercial terms for best value.
• Create and manage purchase orders in ERP/MRP with appropriate terms and flow downs.
• Manage the full PO lifecycle including acknowledgments, changes, and closeout.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks impacting production and milestones.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on part-number discrepancies and source changes.
