Job summary

Nammo Energetics (NEI) seeks an experienced mechanical engineer to design and fabricate production equipment for a new solid rocket motor facility in Perry, FL. You will refine hydraulic/pneumatic systems, develop fixtures, and collaborate with quality and process engineering to meet stringent specs.

You’ll oversee fabrication and installation, estimate tooling costs, and support maintenance. Travel to Norway is possible within 12–18 months.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent experience with 5+ years in an engineering role.
• Advanced 3D CAD proficiency and hands-on fabrication experience.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and schematics.
• Fluent in interpreting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
• Ability to lead projects from concept to commissioning.
• Experience designing automated assembly equipment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Comfort with basic PLC code.

Responsibilities

• Design and fabricate production equipment, including fixtures and tooling.
• Assess and refine hydraulic/electromechanical systems for yield and throughput.
• Create fixtures and machines meeting customer and internal specs.
• Collaborate with Quality and Process Engineering across teams.
• Verify quality during fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Maintain equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed.
