Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE OGDEN is seeking an Assembler to perform skilled bench work using hand tools and machinery to bring customer parts to specification. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to drawings and process sheets.

The candidate will drill, rivet and assemble parts to close tolerance, use calibrated measuring devices, and collaborate with engineers and quality personnel to resolve non-conforming parts. High school diploma or GED required.

• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, engineering drawings and documents.
• Attention to detail and capacity to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
• Proficient with computer systems.
• Plan and perform difficult work processes.
• Interact and communicate professionally with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Drill, rivet and assemble parts to close tolerance.
• Use hand tools and machinery to meet customer specifications.
• Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet specs.
• Prepare parts by sawing and sanding prior to inspection.
• Use measuring devices to verify conformity and determine non-conforming work.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality to resolve issues.
• Read prints/drawings/process sheets to perform layouts and sign work orders.
• Learn and follow safety standards and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
