Job summary

Makino Inc. is seeking an Aerospace Applications Engineer to support the sales team with a focus on aerospace structural and engine components.

You will perform test cuts, machine demonstrations, and turn-key proposals across the Mid Central region, including Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. You will set up NC programs for multi-axis machining (3, 4, 5 axis), train customers, and collaborate with engineering and sales to deliver high-end demonstrations and startup support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field, or 5+ years related experience.
• 3-5 years experience with aerospace structural and/or engine components.
• 3-5 years experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers.
• Experience with Makino machine operation (Pro-5 controller preferred).
• Willingness to travel regionally (30-40%).

Responsibilities

• Perform test cuts and machine demonstrations for aerospace parts (structural and engine components).
• Provide applications engineering support to sales by visiting customer facilities and assisting with machine and turnkey proposals.
• Set up, generate NC program, build tooling, conduct prove-outs, and handle test-cut requests from sales inquiries leading to machine orders.
• Conduct customer start-up training and transfer technical knowledge at customer facilities.
