Job summary

As an Application Engineer for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions in El Segundo, CA, you will provide technical support and expertise to aerospace customers, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, and sales to meet technical needs. You will drive design reviews and maintain engineering documentation while contributing to product demonstrations and solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline is required.
• 3 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably in a customer-facing context (Master counting as 2 years).
• 2 years’ experience with CAD and engineering software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX.
• 2 years’ experience in product design including complex surfaces, assemblies and kinematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to understand their intermediate technical needs and provide solutions.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers.
• Complete intermediate preliminary design reviews for new business opportunities.
• Complete intermediate critical design reviews for new product development.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (models, drawings, and procedures).
• Support the sales team by providing technical information and product demonstrations.
• Process engineering change requests internally and externally.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction (R&D, manufacturing, sales).
• Engineering approver for engineering documentation reviews.
• Partner with 3rd party suppliers as needed to support product gaps.
