Job summary

Vast in Long Beach is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Technician to support building human-rated space stations. You will operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment and perform post-processing and quality control.

This full-time, non-exempt role on second shift (2pm–10:30pm) requires a high school diploma and 1+ years in manufacturing; 3+ years in additive manufacturing preferred. Training and cross-functional collaboration offered.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, or similar industry, experience.
• Comfortable working with hand tools, basic measurement equipment, and following detailed procedures exactly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Setting up additive manufacturing print jobs, verifying machine settings against best practices, overseeing the print process and quality as the machine operates, recover build pauses if necessary.
• Safely handling the metal powder before and after the build, includes sieving, loading, part de-powdering, measuring, and safe storage
• Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained work space
• Develop and implement process efficiency improvement projects
• Independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
• Operate post processing equipment such as drills, handheld grinders and CNC machines as required
• Perform preventive routine maintenance on the machines and troubleshooting manufacturing hardware
• Support rapid iteration and development testing
• Document build, test, and maintenance activities
• Adhere to and help refine test processes, safety standards, and best practices
• Support other teams through cross-functional collaboration and training
