Job summary

Canopy A&D in Ontario, CA seeks an experienced CNC 5 Axis Milling Machinist to set up and operate 5-axis HAAS machines, high-speed routers, and/or lathes in an AS9100 environment. The role demands attention to detail, safety focus, and independent execution of complex machining with strict quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Five years of experience operating 3–5 axis HAAS mills or similar equipment.
• Experience in an AS9100 environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of various cutting tools, tooling applications, and machining processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts from work orders and blueprints.
• Interpret job instructions including CNC programs, setup sheets, tool lists, and drawings.
• Load programs into machine controls and establish reference points.
• Ensure proper lubrication and cooling during machining operations.
• Perform first article inspections and adjust offsets as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area.
