Job summary

Terco Inc., in Bloomingdale, IL, is seeking a hands-on Design Engineer to design, develop, and test machinery used in aerosol filling and packaging lines. You will take equipment from concept through CAD design and validation, then support implementation for customers, coordinating with production, quality, and field service teams.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical design background with CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and experience with PLC systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in machine design, preferably in packaging/processing equipment.
Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens or Allen-Bradley) and automation.
Understanding of pressure vessel design and compatibility with propellants hehazardous liquids is a plus.
Familiarity with safety standards for pressurized, hazardous goods (ATEX/OSHA or equivalents).
Willingness to travel for on-site installations and support.

Responsibilities

Create detailed blueprints and 3D models for new and existing equipment.
Design/modify components and machines used in aerosol manufacturing.
Develop and refine products from performance data and testing results.
Build and support prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
Define electrical requirements for automated lines and coordinate PLC control systems.
Configure sensors, HMIs, and interfaces for machine operators.
Oversee installation and testing of electrical panels and PLC programs.
Conduct equipment testing and safety validation; diagnose issues across subsystems.
Prepare technical documents, design reports, and safety guides.
