Job summary

PlanIT Group in Palmdale, CA seeks an Aeronautical Engineer for Advanced Development Programs - Skunk Works to drive integration and design synthesis of next-generation weapon systems.

You will lead multi-disciplinary integration across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, and electronics, coordinating with fabrication, MRB, quality, and supply-chain teams to ensure smooth production and customer readiness. You will mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or higher.
• Airframe structure design and analysis experience.
• Metallic and composite design experience; CATIA V5 and/or 3DX familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and design synthesis across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, thermodynamics, electronics, controls, and actuation.
• Conduct multidisciplinary system trade studies to optimize performance and cost.
• Coordinate with fabrication, MRB, quality, and supply-chain teams to ensure smooth production operations.
• Generate and present technical and administrative materials for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor early-career engineers and champion One-LM culture across cross-functional teams.

You will be the Aeronautical Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs - Skunk Works which is responsible for designing and integrating next-generation weapon systems.

What You Will Be Doing:

As the Aeronautical Engineer you will be responsible for driving the integration and design synthesis of Special Mission programs while collaborating across a multi-disciplinary team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Help lead integration and design synthesis across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, thermodynamics, electronics, controls, and actuation.
• Support and conduct multi-disciplinary system trade studies to optimize performance and cost.
• Coordinate with fabrication, assembly, MRB, quality, and supply-chain teams to ensure smooth production operations.
• Generate and present technical and administrative materials for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Mentor early-career engineers and champion One-LM culture across cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or above Degree in an Engineering Discipline
• Experience in airframe structure design and analysis
• Experience with metallic and composite design
• Experience with CATIA V5 and or 3DX

• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Experience working with LM Client
• Experience interacting with suppliers, external customers and Production Operation
