Job summary

AEVEX, headquartered in Solana Beach, CA, seeks an Aeromechanical Engineer for our Tampa, FL team. You will develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, run simulations and prototyping, and coordinate with electrical, software, and systems engineers to integrate subsystems.

Candidates need a Mechanical Engineering degree (Master's preferred) and 0–3 years aerospace experience; familiarity with FAA/AS9100/ISO 9001; CAD skills (SolidWorks/CATIA); strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, including engines, airframes, and avionics.
  • Conduct simulations, testing, and prototyping to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger aerospace systems.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential mechanical failures.
  • Design and oversee manufacturing and assembly processes of mechanical components, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of designs, processes, and test results.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and analyze mechanical systems for aircraft and spacecraft, including engines, airframes, and avionics.

Qualifications And Competencies
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures.
  • Understanding of regulatory and industry standards, such as FAA regulations, AS9100, and ISO 9001.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
Experience
  • 0-3 years of experience in aerospace or a related industry.
