Job summary

MORSE Corp is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to architect and implement firmware for autonomous aerial systems. You will work on embedded platforms, navigation, and control loops, integrating PX4 or similar flight stacks and developing LIDAR drivers for flight tests.

You will analyze flight data, optimize autonomy logic, and support end-to-end prototype vehicle development from concept to test flights across multiple test environments.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required or ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Strong skills in C++, Rust, and Python.
  • Experience in navigation algorithms (SLAM, path planning) and autonomy logic.
  • Experience with low-level embedded programming and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with PX4 or other flight controllers.
  • Skilled in system architecture, component definition, and integration of prototype vehicles.
  • Passion for taking novel UAS from concept to flight.

Responsibilities

  • Architect systems with multiple microcontrollers, defining component roles and requirements.
  • Implement navigation algorithms and autonomy logic in Rust and C++.
  • Analyze flight logs and debug GNC and autonomy issues.
  • Develop LIDAR drivers in C++ and Rust.
  • Configure ground systems and support flight tests (local and remote).
  • Develop control and path planning algorithms and integrate into PX4/ROS layer.
  • Write drivers for actuators and radios in C++ and Python.
  • Demonstrate low-level embedded programming concepts (memory, data structures).
  • Support flight controller, electronics, and sensor integration.
