Job summary

Liberty Puerto Rico is seeking an Aerial Restoration Construction Supervisor to lead field crews responsible for aerial construction, restoration, and related activities across the HFC and fiber network. You will ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of work in the field.

This role requires coordinating with Network Operations, Engineering, Dispatch, and other teams to prioritize restoration work, monitor progress, and coach technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or better.
• Minimum 5+ years in telecommunications, cable, or Outside Plant.
• Experience in aerial telecom construction preferred.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HFC and fiber OSP architecture.
• Valid driver's license; Puerto Rico license preferred.

What's the role?

As an Aerial Restoration Construction Supervisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, safety, productivity, quality, and performance of Aerial Restoration Construction Technicians supporting Liberty Puerto Rico's Outside Plant (OSP) network.

The Supervisor leads field crews performing aerial construction, physical plant restoration, cable placement, lashing, pole attachments, transfers, relocations, rebuild activities, and other construction-related work associated with the HFC and fiber network.

The position plays an important role in both planned network construction and service restoration, ensuring crews are safely and effectively deployed to restore damaged aerial infrastructure and complete assigned construction work to established engineering and quality standards.

The Supervisor coordinates closely with Network Operations, Line Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, Dispatch, and other field organizations to prioritize work and ensure efficient restoration of the network.

• Ensure crews have the vehicles, tools, materials, equipment, and information required to complete assigned work.
• Coordinate crew deployment and resource allocation to maximize productivity and minimize travel and non-productive time.
• Monitor work progress throughout the day and adjust assignments based on changing operational priorities.
• Ensure completed work is properly documented and closed within applicable systems and processes.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Vice President.
• Coordinate the deployment of construction crews during network outages involving damaged aerial infrastructure.
• Work closely with Line Maintenance and Network Operations to understand restoration priorities and construction support requirements.
• Mobilize crews to repair or replace damaged strand, cable, pole attachments, hardware, and other aerial infrastructure.
• Prioritize construction activities that enable Line Technicians and other technical teams to restore network services.
• Coordinate resources during major outages, weather events, commercial power events, vehicle damage, pole failures, and other incidents affecting aerial plant.
• Provide field status, estimated completion times, resource requirements, and restoration progress to operational leadership.
• Support escalation and emergency-response processes when additional crews, equipment, materials, or contractor resources are required.
• Participate in major incident and storm-restoration activities as required.
• Supervise aerial construction activities including:
• Ensure work is performed according to approved engineering designs, construction specifications, and company standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction teams to resolve field conditions that prevent work from being completed as designed.
• Identify and escape pole-access, make-ready, permitting, utility coordination, or infrastructure issues affecting execution.
• Establish and reinforce a strong field safety culture. Ensure employees comply with company safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular safety observations, field inspections, tailboard/job briefings, and coaching to ensure proper use of PPE, fall-protection equipment, traffic-control devices, bucket trucks, ladders, and construction equipment.
• Verify that employees are trained and qualified for assigned work activities.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.
• Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain accountability for safe vehicle and equipment operation.
• Achieve established operational performance expectations for the team.
  
• Monitor technician productivity and completed work volumes.
• Track scheduled versus completed work.
• Monitor restoration response and completion times.
• Identify causes of repeat work, rework, failed inspections, or construction defects.
• Monitor overtime utilization and crew efficiency.
• Ensure effective utilization of vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Analyze individual and team performance and implement corrective actions when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, quality, and cost.
• Maintain appropriate reporting and performance visibility for management.
• Ensure construction work meets established Liberty Puerto Rico engineering and construction standards.
• Perform or coordinate field quality inspections.
• Verify appropriate cable clearances, attachment heights, spacing, sag, lashing, grounding/bonding, hardware installation, and workmanship.
• Ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
• Identify recurring quality issues and implement coaching or process improvements.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, and Construction teams to improve construction practices and standards.
• Coach and develop Aerial Restoration Construction Technicians.
• Establish clear individual and team performance expectations.
• Conduct regular employee performance discussions and provide timely feedback.
• Recognize strong performance and address performance deficiencies.
• Ensure employees complete required technical, safety, and compliance training.
• Develop employee skills across aerial construction activities to increase crew flexibility and capability.
• Identify employees with the potential to progress into advanced construction or Line Technician positions.
• Support structured cross-training and career-development programs.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and administering corrective actions in accordance with Liberty policy.

What do you need?

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Typically 5+ years of telecommunications, cable, utility, Outside Plant, or related field experience preferred.
• Previous experience in aerial telecommunications construction strongly preferred.
• Previous supervisory, crew-lead, or field-leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HFC and fiber Outside Plant architecture.
• Strong understanding of aerial construction methods, pole-line hardware, strand, cable placement, lashing, attachments, guys, anchors, and cable transfers.
• Familiarity with construction prints, network maps, work orders, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of field safety practices associated with aerial telecommunications construction.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle requirements. Valid Puerto Rico Driver's License, Category 8-9, preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors and perform field inspections in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and participate in emergency restoration activities, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, reporting tools, and field technician platforms).
• Skilled in the safe operation and oversight of bucket trucks, ladders, cable-lashing equipment, and hand/power tools.
