Job summary

Global Medical Response is seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our air transport team, safely moving patients to and from facilities and supporting scene responses. Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in states served by the assigned area.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred, required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the required time.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact to handoff.
  • Maintain competency through ongoing lab and clinical experiences.
  • Keep documentation of licensure, certifications, CE, safety, and procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable about equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
  • Serve as a medical flight team member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete documentation.
  • Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot duties when needed.
  • Comply with safety standards for crew/patients/equipment.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as directed.
