Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts in North Carolina is seeking an Aerial Lift Trimmer to perform tree maintenance and storm-related tasks using bucket trucks and related equipment. The role emphasizes safety, equipment upkeep, and teamwork with crew members.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of aerial lift experience in utility vegetation management or related fields, plus a high school diploma or equivalent. Some travel for storm restoration may be required.

Qualifications

• Must show knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal operations.
• Must be able to identify tree species.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and procedures when near conductors and aloft.
• Must be able to work at heights under varying weather conditions.
• Must have or obtain first-aid certification and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Prepare truck and materials daily as directed by General Foreperson.
• Perform professional tree maintenance as directed by General Foreperson.
• Clear/trim trees and brush away from utility lines; remove branches near lines.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Maintain and track tools and equipment used daily.
• Develop and practice climbing/tree maintenance skills to improve.
• Assist other crew members in daily activities.
• Safeguard employees and the public by enforcing safety and keeping areas clean.
• Perform storm work duties as needed.
