Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a mechanic/technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair aerial work platforms. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, field service, and safe operation of equipment across our downtown Phoenix location.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with overtime as needed; pay ranges from $28 to $35 per hour, paid weekly. Uniforms, equipment rental, and safety glasses are provided at no cost.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably with construction or industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing on equipment and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, 90-day, and annual inspections on aerial work platforms to ensure compliance with manufacturer and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on aerial equipment both in the shop and in the field.
• Conduct mechanical troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs using appropriate tools (including torque wrenches).
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately using web-based systems and electronic tablets.
• Maintain equipment safety decals, service readiness, and a clean, organized work area; assist with equipment loading, delivery, and pickup as needed.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on aerial equipment both in the shop and in the field
• Conduct mechanical troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs using appropriate tools (including torque wrenches)
• Document inspections, maintenance, and repairs accurately using web‑based systems and electronic tablets\
• Maintain equipment safety decals, service readiness, and a clean, organized work area; assist with equipment loading, delivery, and pickup as needed

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; minimum age of 21 and ability to maintain a DOT medical card
