Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking a skilled equipment mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied machinery in a shop setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and power-train issues, interpret schematics, and clearly communicate conditions and recommendations to clients and team members.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, preparing service reports, planning repair costs, and traveling to remote sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current driver’s license required.
• Minimum of 6 months related experience preferred.
• Completion of eTRAIN test evaluation.
• Must be able to communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports and document work performed.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Travel to remote locations as needed and work overtime when required.
