Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking an experienced technician to troubleshoot, repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied equipment in a shop and field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and power-train system issues using electronic tools and schematics, and explain findings clearly to clients and management.

Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and comfort with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to communicate in English (speak, read, comprehend, write).
• Completion of eTRAIN test evaluation is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Experience with CAT components and diagnostic tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports and manage repair costs.
• Maintain client relations and support corporate objectives.
• Travel to remote locations as needed and work overtime if required.
