Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. is seeking a Telecom Aerial Foreman for outdoor, hands-on work in diverse weather conditions. You will oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on site.

Responsibilities include leading crews, operating heavy equipment, and traveling for storm response. A valid CDL A and DOT medical card are preferred; High School diploma or GED required. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems per codes and customer requirements.
• Safely operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and climbing equipment.
• maintain safe work areas and ensure smooth traffic flow on site.
• Provide guidance and support to crew members and document daily work orders and safety checks.
• Travel for storm response as needed.

This is a hands-on, outdoor position that requires working in all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and other inclement weather. Must be comfortable performing hands-on, physically demanding work in an outdoor field environment.

At Bigham Cable Construction, Inc., as a Telecom Aerial Foreman, you'll oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You'll serve as the on-site expert, offering guidance and support to less experienced team members.

What you’ll do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse
