Bigham Cable Construction, Inc. in Asheville, NC is seeking a Telecom Aerial Foreman to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

As the on-site expert you will mentor crew members, lead daily operations, and coordinate with customers while traveling for storm response when needed; enjoy weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• DOT medical card valid after passing exam.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance and repair of aerial telecom systems.
• Ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance on site.
• Act as on-site expert and guide less experienced team members.
• Safely operate bucket truck, digger derrick and excavators.
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks for productivity and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred
  
  

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse
