Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction is seeking a hands-on Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an Aerial Telecom Crew in installing and maintaining fiber/telecom cables and materials. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and providing tools, parts, and materials to crew members.

Ideal candidates are at least 18, authorized to work in the U.S., and have a high school diploma or GED; a pole climber certification is a plus. Applicants with prior labor or telecom experience are favored.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• Experience in labor or telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notifications are completed before starting work each day.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow per local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel and be on-call as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
