At Communications Construction Group, as an Aerial Construction Laborer, you’ll gain knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, including the placement of poles and anchors. You will become familiar with a wide range of tools and equipment, learn to read and understand prints/maps, and follow safety rules and operating instructions.

What you’ll do as an Aerial Construction Laborer

• Perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment
• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators
• Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers
• Flag traffic when required
• Work safely aloft using climbing hooks and ladders

What you’ll need

• Be at least 18 years old
• Authorization to work in the U.S. for this company
• Valid driver’s license
• Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
• Ability to climb telephone poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform all telecommunications construction duties
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed
• Ability to set up and maintain safe work areas
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

Physical abilities & exposures

• Extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Work in extreme weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
