Job summary

Applied Intuition in Fort Walton Beach, FL, is seeking a Robotic Software Engineer to design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence across hardware and software platforms. You will deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL, and live test settings, interfacing with sensors, data links, and aircraft control systems to deliver robust, scalable autonomy solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration, onboard UAVs, and demonstrations

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems (hardware, software, integration)
• Experience with C++ programming
• Experience integrating autonomy/robotics products with Pixhawk autopilots (ArduPilot and/or PX4)
• Experience with embedded Linux and hardware interfaces/sensors
• Familiarity with Docker, Linux-based environments, and Git/GitLab

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate autonomy and vehicle intelligence systems spanning hardware and software domains
• Integrate hardware and software onto vehicle platforms and deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live tests
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable autonomy solutions
• Troubleshoot integration and software issues to ensure reliability and performance
• Interface with sensors, datalinks, GPS/INS, and ground control stations during development and testing
• Work with DoD warfighter domain experts and 3rd party UAS vendors for integration
• Support live flight tests of autonomy software on UAVs and vendor integration tasks
• Develop service-oriented architecture software and inter-process messaging for autonomous UAS
