Job summary

Sabert Corporation is hiring for a Production Associate on day shift (6:00 AM–6:00 PM) in our Richmond, VA area facility. You will load material into the die cut line, move pallets with pallet jacks, and operate the die cut machine per safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school preferred.
• Experience: Equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to operate manual hand jack and pallet jack and use RF scanner for WMS.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, instructions, and quality checklists.
• Basic math and measurement skills including using a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Load material into die cut machine at feeder and set up for production rate.
• Use pallet jacks to move pallets of material to feeder and to delivery areas.
• Operate machine controls as directed or independently as needed.
• Use RF scanner to log transactions and generate labels in WMS.
• Assist with changeovers, setup, and adjustments as required by product.
• Troubleshoot machine problems to maintain production pace.
• Inspect fed material for defects and conformance to specs.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area through housekeeping tasks.
• Record data on required forms and keep line documentation.
• Follow safety, quality, and regulatory compliance procedures.

Day Shift 6AM-6PM

Essential Job Functions:

Operations

• Load material into die cut machine at feeder and set up quick change at feeder to maintain production rate.
• Use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack to transfer pallets of material to feeder section and to remove material from machine stacker/delivery section.
• Use machine controls to operate machine either independently by performing authorized operating tasks in the absence of a machine operator or as directed by the machine operator to start, stop, or to make adjustments.
• Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and use Warehouse Management System to generate a label that corresponds to the items.

Support

• Assist the operator with changeovers, machine set up, and machine adjustments as required based on product requirements.
• Assist the operator with operating and troubleshooting machine problems at die cut machine to maintain the production process and run machine at established rate.

Quality Control

• Inspect material to be fed at feeder section for defects and to ensure conformance to customer and product specifications.

Maintenance

• Perform housekeeping and machine sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Reporting and Record-Keeping

• Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation.

Compliance/Other tasks

Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Operate manual hand jack, electric pallet jack, moisture meter. Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions.
• Ability to read, understand, and comprehend Safety Rules; operating and maintenance instructions; quality procedures/quality checklists; and production data log.
• Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area.
• Basic mathematics (i.e. counting and basic calculations to add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to use and read a tape measure. Ability to perform calculations for measuring and calculating amounts.
• Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
• Our Manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent use of hands and fingers for handling items and reaching, as well as regular movement throughout the work area, including bending. The role also involves standing for extended periods, occasional stationary tasks, climbing steps, and pushing or pulling objects. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
