Job summary

Sabert Corporation in Virginia is seeking a Day Shift Aerator to support die cut operations from 6 AM to 6 PM. You will load materials, help set up, and monitor quality while keeping production moving and adhering to safety rules.

Responsibilities include operating and adjusting machines under supervision, recording line data, using RF scanners for WMS transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. High school diploma preferred; experience in manufacturing helpful.

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Load material into die cut machines and maintain production rate.
  • Assist the operator with setup, changeovers and adjustments.
  • Operate machine controls and start/stop as directed by the operator.
  • Use RF scanner to log transactions in the Warehouse Management System and print labels.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety in work area.

Day Shift 6AM-6PM

The aerator is responsible for the aeration and staging of materials to the sheet fed, and roll fed to die cut machines. Assisting the die cut machine operator with set up, utility, and quality tasks; and performing machine operating tasks as directed by the machine operator.

The aerator is responsible for the aeration and staging of materials to the sheet fed, and roll fed to die cut machines. Assisting the die cut machine operator with set up, utility, and quality tasks; and performing machine operating tasks as directed by the machine operator.

Essential Job Functions
Operations
  • Load material into die cut machine at feeder and set up quick change at feeder to maintain production rate.
  • Use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack to transfer pallets of material to feeder section and to remove material from machine stacker/delivery section.
  • Use machine controls to operate machine either independently by performing authorized operating tasks in the absence of a machine operator or as directed by the machine operator to start, stop, or to make adjustments.
  • Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and use Warehouse Management System to generate a label that corresponds to the items.
Support
  • Assist the operator with changeovers, machine set up, and machine adjustments as required based on product requirements.
  • Assist the operator with operating and troubleshooting machine problems at die cut machine to maintain the production process and run machine at established rate.
Quality Control
  • Inspect material to be fed at feeder section for defects and to ensure conformance to customer and product specifications.
Maintenance
  • Perform housekeeping and machine sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Reporting and Record-Keeping
  • Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation.
Compliance/Other Tasks
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.
Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or trade school preferred.

Experience: Equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Operate manual hand jack, electric pallet jack, moisture meter. Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comprehend Safety Rules; operating and maintenance instructions; quality procedures/quality checklists; and production data log.
  • Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work area.
  • Basic mathematics (i.e. counting and basic calculations to add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to use and read a tape measure. Ability to perform calculations for measuring and calculating amounts.
Work Environment
  • Safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. In addition, task specific PPE may be required.
  • Our Manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year.
Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent use of hands and fingers for handling items and reaching, as well as regular movement throughout the work area, including bending. The role also involves standing for extended periods, occasional stationary tasks, climbing steps, and pushing or pulling objects. Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
