Job summary

Lone Star College–Montgomery is seeking a Specialist III, Advising for Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) (G). This temporary role supports grant-funded programs, conducts intake, and registers students for GED/HSE, ESL, and related certificates across multiple campuses.

Responsibilities include advising, scheduling, and coordinating with staff to ensure efficient operations. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree or higher.
• Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) and certifications are listed as preferred.
• Experience with clerical, advising or student services is implied.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, greet and provide general support to AEL prospective students.
• Advise on orientation and testing dates and eligibility requirements per AEL program.
• Answer multiple phone lines and transfer calls; return voicemails.
• Register and drop students for AEL classes including GED/HS equivalency and ESL.
