Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology in San Diego, CA, seeks a Training Specialist Senior to train Fleet sailors on the Aegis Combat System and related weapons through classroom and lab instruction. You will develop, deliver and assess curricula, and support course reviews to maintain high training standards.

The role requires extensive Navy system knowledge, strong teaching skills, and the ability to ensure operational proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Seven years as a qualified Aegis SUWC trainer with journeyman instruction.
• One year as Navy Training Environment instructor with curriculum responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Security clearance: Secret; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize and conduct training for Fleet sailors in San Diego, CA.
• Train on Aegis Combat System, weapons, mission planning and tactical comms.
• Plan, brief, evaluate and debrief classes; support curriculum development.
• Provide subject matter expertise for curriculum updates and course reviews.
• Maintain records of training activities and assess program effectiveness.
