Job summary

Gastinger Walker Architects is seeking an experienced Architect/Engineer Project Manager to lead design and coordination of complex projects with a strong emphasis on Federal work (DOD/GSA/USACE). You will support clients, staff, consultants, and deliverables from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with design sensitivity, excels in a collaborative environment, and has proven experience delivering projects.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of professional architectural/engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture/Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional architectural/engineering license preferred (or active pursuit).
  • Strong proficiency in Revit and related design/documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and coordination of complex design projects with emphasis on Federal work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with clear priorities and timelines.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, delivering clear communication and progress updates.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
  • Represent the firm in on-site and off-site meetings, client workshops, and coordination sessions.
  • Develop and review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Ensure design solutions meet building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate construction administration tasks (RFIs, submittals, site visits, punch lists, contractor communication).
  • Collaborate with leadership on project planning and resource management.

Gastinger Walker is seeking an experienced Architect/Engineer Project Manager to lead the design and coordination of complex design projects with a strong emphasis on Federal work (DOD/GSA/USACE etc.). This role requires a highly organized, technically skilled, and communicative professional who can support clients, staff, consultants, and project deliverables from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support projects from initial concept through construction administration, ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and schedule adherence.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining clear priorities and timelines.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering clear communication, design presentations, and progress updates.
  • Facilitate coordination among multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
  • Represent the firm in both on-site and off-site meetings, including client workshops, construction meetings, and consultant coordination sessions.
  • Develop and review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Ensure all design solutions meet building codes, zoning regulations, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate construction administration tasks, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, punch lists, and contractor communication.
  • Work closely with internal leadership to support project planning, resource management, and firm standards.

Qualifications
Required
  • 10 years of professional architectural/engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture/Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional architectural/engineering license preferred (or active pursuit).
  • Strong technical proficiency in Revit and related design/documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site and attend meetings at client and project locations as needed.
  • Ability to obtain government clearances as needed.
Preferred
  • MILCON, USACE, GSA, government experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of FAR Clauses, USACE deliverable processes and UFC requirements preferred.
