Colliers Engineering & Design in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead an architectural practice within our firm. The role focuses on the conceptual design and full support through all design phases, with emphasis on federal projects and front-end BD activities.

The ideal candidate has a professional architecture degree, licensure, 8+ years of experience, and strong REVIT/AutoCAD Architecture skills. Travel is required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of related architecture experience; licensure required.
  • Experience with federal market projects and common delivery methods such as Design/Bid/Build or Design/Build.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Architecture team in our McLean, VA office!

The Senior Project Manager will participate in the conceptual design of a project and provides full support through every phase of an architectural project. Ideally this person has expertise in the federal market, with experience working with or for significant federal agencies such as the USACE, DOD, DOS, (and/or Civilian Federal Agencies like the DHS, DOI, GSA, and VA) and can provide SME (subject matter expertise) in areas of programming, project management, design, and design/specification process/protocols. Familiarity with Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build delivery systems is preferred. This position is an excellent opportunity to lead a growing building’s practice with client facing and business development opportunities. The Senior Project Manager liaises with the Federal Initiative Team, regional staff, other architects/architectural designers, and consultants, will provide mentoring as needed, develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects and coordinates with Project Architects/Project Managers on appropriate technical solutions and QA/QC reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Plans and develops medium-to-large projects with many complexities under minimal supervision.
  • Coordinates with the Federal Buildings Initiative Team in business development activities.
  • Coordinates project teams throughout all design phases.
  • Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
  • Works closely with Principals and Project Leaders to prepare and develop technical documents across a range of project types, and scale.
  • Leads technical coordination of project drawings and documents with all internal team members and design subconsultants.
  • Participates in drawing QA/QC efforts and provide feedback to junior staff on best practices.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work on multiple projects while meeting budget and schedule constraints.
  • Leads initiatives and activities that strengthen the firm’s culture, knowledge base, and capabilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by a Project Manager or senior team members.
Qualifications
  • Candidate shall have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Licensure required.
  • Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD Architecture version 2022, have the ability to annotate plans and details.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Procore, and CMAP scheduling, job costing, accounting, and invoicing functions.
  • Maintains existing architectural licensure through completion of LUs as required.
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
