Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time Advocate to serve youth and families across Jackson County, Missouri. The role is hourly with flexible scheduling that may include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include initiating, organizing, planning, developing and delivering direct advocacy services, using a wraparound, strength-based approach. Travel across the service area is required, and prior experience with at-risk youth is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior Experience working with at-risk youth and families in a community, school, and home setting.
  • Experience working in community-based services and knowledge of community resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general knowledge of using computers.
  • Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system is a plus.
  • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.

Summary of the Position: Hourly, part-time position serving youth and families throughout Jackson Countyare available.

  • Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage, and activity reimbursement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior Experience working with at-risk youth and families in a community, school, and home setting
  • Experience working in community-based services and knowledge of community resources.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general knowledge of using computers
