Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a part-time hourly Advocate to serve youth and families in Fort Wayne, IN. The role involves initiating and coordinating direct advocacy services based on a wrap-around approach, while serving as a positive role model in community, school and home environments.

The position offers flexible hours, weekly pay, and activity reimbursement. A high school diploma is required, with preference for experience with at-risk youth and community resources.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Experience working with at-risk youth.
• Proficiency in computer skills; experience using an EHR is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Requires reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
• Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• Advocate using a wrap-around model; coordinate services across settings.
• Serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.

Job description

Status: Part-Time HourlyFLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part-Time positions serving youth and families throughout Elkhart County - Fort Wayne are are available.

• Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
• The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
• This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Availability: Flexible Hours; May requires some evenings and weekend.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
