Vera Institute of Justice in New Orleans, LA seeks a Program Associate to support local and state advocacy campaigns. You will liaise between internal communications, local media, and coalition partners, attend community meetings, draft materials, and advance reform initiatives within the Louisiana priorities.

Ideal candidates have criminal legal or immigration system knowledge, strong organizational and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with a hybrid in-office schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Experience with criminal legal/public safety or public health policy preferred
• Louisiana/New Orleans political context knowledge is a plus

Responsabilités

• Support local and state advocacy campaigns and coalitions
• Draft program materials and talking points; assist with communications
• Coordinate with Vera teams to push projects forward
• Attend community meetings and build partnerships with local leaders
• Provide memos, fact sheets, testimonies, and reports on reform initiatives
• Manage multiple projects and maintain timelines
• Foster relationships with external partners and coalition leaders
• Support outreach through newsletters and social media
