GO Public Schools Oakland is seeking a Communications Manager to broaden and deepen its network of education advocates. You will craft, design, and launch communications across print, email, and social platforms, while managing online channels and creating collateral that reflects GO’s mission.

The role emphasizes audience-specific messaging for families, educators, and community partners, with a fast-paced, collaborative environment and a strong focus on detail and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years in communications, marketing, media relations, or journalism.
• Excellent written and oral communications; ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong copy editing and attention to detail.
• Experience with web publishing platforms and design tools (WordPress, Canva, Sprout).
• Familiarity with education sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write, project manage, and publicize clear communications across print, email, and social media.
• Expand and deepen the network of engaged followers across channels.
• Strengthen organizational brand and produce event/campaign collateral.
• Develop social media strategy and engage key community partners.
• Manage media strategy and press relationships; draft op-eds.
