Job summary

Westminster Public Schools is seeking a School and Family Communications Manager to lead district-wide communications for families, staff, and leaders. The role writes, designs, publishes, and produces multi-channel content while coaching others to communicate effectively.

It reports to the Director and collaborates with the Content and Campaigns Manager on district priorities. Responsibilities include creating templates, audits, and BOE materials, plus ensuring accessibility and timely updates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
• At least three years of relevant communications experience; HR-confirmed final requirements.
• Preferred K–12 or public-sector communications background with portfolio samples.
• Experience with front-end website editing and CMS tools; basic HTML/CSS familiarity.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and analytics/reporting tools.
• Ability to translate complex information into audience-centered communications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted communications partner to principals and school teams with scalable monthly support.
• Coach school communicators on messaging, writing, and web practices; conduct practical workshops.
• Perform school communications audits three times per year and drive improvements.
• Create templates and guidance for school websites, social media, and announcements.
• Write, edit, and distribute clear communications through multiple channels.
• Own BOE reports and presentations, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
