Job summary

BPM is seeking an experienced Accounting Advisory leader to join our Bay Area team. This role benefits from a flexible culture and opportunities to work with private, owner-run businesses and UHNW clients across industries.

You will oversee complex accounting matters, mentor junior staff, and shape financial reporting, ERP integrations, and tax planning initiatives. A CPA and 7+ years’ combined public/private experience are required with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Active CPA license.
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in both public accounting and industry.
• Minimum 3–5 years in family-owned business, family office, or UHNW accounting environment.
• Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, reporting and ERP customization.
• Experience with multiple entity accounting including Trusts/LLCs/LPs.
• Experience with insurance renewals and bill-pay tools (RAMP, Bill.com, Brex, Expensify).
• Demonstrated management experience and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Strong accounting background and ability to research complex issues independently.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Accounting Advisory Overview:

BPM's Business & Outsourcing Services team provides comprehensive financial and business advisory services to private, owner-run companies, including family-owned businesses and start-ups. We do this by providing outsourced accounting services, cash flow modeling, financial reporting. We also represent companies in securing loans and financing, develop succession plans and exit strategies, and support company growth through tax planning, risk management, system and processes optimization and merger and acquisition integration.

You Have:

• An active CPA license.
• BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 7 years' experience between both public accounting and industry as part of an accounting function.
• Minimum3-5 yearsrelated experience in a family owned business, family enterprise, family office, multi-family office, or wealth management accounting environment catering to UHNW individuals
• Experience with data conversions, interfaces/integrations, reporting and customization within various ERP systems.
• Experience with multiple entity accounting - some experience with Trusts (revocable, Irrevocable, Grantor, Non-Grantor), Single member LLCs, LPs, Partnerships Interests is preferred but not mandatory
• Experience with Insurance renewals, bill pay (RAMP, Bill.com, Brex, Expensify and similar tools)
• Experience using QuickBooks, Intacct and NetSuite and/or other accounting packages.
• Demonstrated management experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Experience developing and mentoring junior level staff.
• Strong operational and technical accounting background, including ability to research complex technical accounting issues independently.
• Professionalism and discretion in interacting with firm leadership and client executives.
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to address both executive and technical level audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
