Job summary

Security Risk Advisors is seeking a Cooperative (Co-op) cybersecurity professional to join the Advisory team. The role offers exposure to penetration testing, purple/team collaboration, and a range of security assessments in a fast-paced consulting environment.

The Co-op position emphasizes hands-on work with client organizations, documentation, and ongoing learning. Hours are Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm, with some evenings or travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Penetration Testing: assess internal and external networks for security flaws.

  • Red Teams: simulate attackers to show impact.
  • Tactical Assessments: social engineering, physical security reviews.
  • Documentation: record evidence in reports and updates.
  • Research and Innovation: use findings to improve services.

Summary/Objective

TheAdvisoryRedCo-op position will be part ofSecurityRisk Advisors’Advisoryteam. Our style of consulting is dynamic, innovative, fast-paced, and highly rewarding for both our clients and our team. Essential Functions

  • Penetration Testing: assess internal and external networks for common and custom security flaws that can lead to widespread access to sensitive systems and data.
  • Purple Teams: the “open-book” approach to penetration testing, working side-by-side with our internal and client blue teams to strengthen defenses against real attackers.
  • Web and Mobile Assessments: dynamic web and mobile application security testing.
  • Red Teams: adaptive, flag-based red team engagements designed todemonstratethe impact of a dedicated, persistent attacker.
  • Tactical Assessments: social engineering, spear phishing, physical break-ins, product security assessments, industrial control systems, architecture reviews.
  • Documentation: document evidence of work in reports and status updates.
  • Research and Innovation:useknowledge gained to conduct research initiatives with the purpose of improving our services and giving back to the community.

Work Environment

This joboperatesin a professional office environment, and all co-ops are expected to work in the office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Co-ops are expected to work in-person at their assigned office4/5 days per week unless otherwisepermittedby their supervisor.

  • In-progress or completed formal cybersecurity training program, including an undergraduate program or cybersecurity certification/boot camp.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Previousinformation security experience is a plus.
