Saxon Global is seeking an Advisory BI Engineer to design and deliver enterprise semantic models on Databricks Lakehouse. The role blends hands-on development with architectural leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and advising leadership on data governance and BI strategy.

Responsibilities include building semantic models, leading BI delivery, and collaborating with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to ensure scalable, governed assets and strong CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of BI/Data/Analytics engineering experience.
• Deep Databricks knowledge, Lakehouse, Delta, Unity Catalog.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of enterprise semantic layers using Databricks Lakehouse and Unity Catalog.
• Build semantic models aligned to Kimball dimensional modeling best practices.
• Hands-on development in SQL and Python for complex transformations.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering standards.
• Mentor junior BI engineers and guide delivery.
• Advise leadership on BI architecture and data governance.
• Own delivery outcomes for BI projects with stakeholder alignment.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to meet requirements.
• Contribute to BI best practices and CI/CD workflows.
