RFG Advisory is expanding its custodial platform to include Pershing, seeking an Advisor Operations Associate to own day-to-day Pershing relationships and provide expert Escalation support for Advisors. This hybrid role supports Birmingham-based and remote team members with occasional travel for onboarding.

You will train the Operations team, manage Pershing access, and ensure data accuracy in Orion while coordinating with Transitions and Compliance on edge cases and escalations.

Qualifications

• Experience in wealth management operations or custodial support.
• Direct Pershing experience (NetX360) strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting Advisors or RIAs in an operational capacity is a plus.
• Background in custodial transitions and data reconciliation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary resource for Advisor Pershing questions, escalations, and workflows.
• Own the Pershing relationship and act as front door to custodian.
• Deliver accurate Pershing information and maintain proactive updates to Advisors.
• Manage Pershing access and entitlement for Advisors and staff.
• Train and cross-train the team on Pershing processes and create reference materials.
• Ensure data accuracy in Orion and coordinate with Transitions/Compliance on escalations.

RFG Advisory is expanding its custodial platform to include Pershing, and this role exists to make that expansion seamless for every Advisor we serve. The Advisor Operations Associate is the go-to resource for Pershing questions, escalations, and workflows across the firm, owning the day-to-day custodial relationship and ensuring Advisors always have a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact. This is a role for someone who takes ownership seriously, communicates with clarity, and finds satisfaction in being the person others rely on when they need an answer.Location: This role can be in our Birmingham office or remote.If in Birmingham, AL, our office works a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 remote).If remote, occasional travel to Birmingham will be required including onboarding.Reports to: Senior Director of OperationsWhat You'll DoPershing Platform Support & Advisor ExperienceServe as the primary resource for Advisors and their teams on Pershing questions, escalations, and platform workflows.Own the day-to-day Pershing relationship and act as RFG's front door to the custodian.Deliver accurate, consistent Pershing information to Advisors and staff; ensure corrections and rework are rare.Keep Advisors informed on escalation status without being asked, setting the standard for proactive communication.Custodial Relationship & Escalation ManagementOwn the Pershing escalation path; determine what gets raised to the custodian and follow every issue through to resolution.Hold the custodian accountable on open items while maintaining a productive, collaborative partnership.Decide independently whether to answer a question directly, escalate to the custodian, or bring it to leadership with context and a recommendation.Manage Pershing access and entitlement administration for Advisors, their staff, and internal team members.Training, Documentation & Knowledge ManagementTrain and cross-train the Operations team on Pershing so knowledge is shared, not siloed in one person.Build and maintain Pershing reference materials and procedures that stay current and are usable by the full team.Support Advisor transitions to or from Pershing, partnering with the Transitions team on data accuracy and account setup.Ensure Pershing account and household data is accurately reflected in Orion; identify discrepancies and drive corrections.Custodian Coverage & Operational BreadthLearn and support RFG's other custodian relationships so the Operations team has reliable coverage across the board.Become a dependable backup on non-Pershing custodial workflows within the first year.Collaborate daily with the Operations team and partner with Transitions and Compliance on escalations and edge cases.Requirements:Experience2–5 years of experience in wealth management operations, custodial support, or a related financial services roleDirect experience with Pershing (NetX360) strongly preferredExperience supporting Advisors or RIA firms in an operational capacity preferredBackground in custodial transitions, account setup, or data reconciliation a meaningful advantageSkills & CompetenciesStrong ownership mentality; resolves issues end-to-end without being redirectedClear, proactive communicator who keeps Advisors and teammates informed without being askedSound independent judgment; knows when to answer directly, when to escalate, and how to prioritize competing requestsDetail-oriented with a low tolerance for data errors and a habit of checking twiceCollaborative team player who actively builds others' capabilities through training and documentationComfortable holding external partners accountable while maintaining productive working relationshipsTechnology & ToolsPershing NetX360 experience strongly preferredOrion for account and household data managementMicrosoft 365 including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and ExcelDocuSign and ZohoEducationBachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience consideredCompensation:$85,000-95,000Company:RFG Advisory is a platform for growth-minded Independent Advisors who want to scale without compromise.
