Job summary

Datos Insights in the United States seeks an Advisor to influence the insurance industry through research, strategy and vendor selection. You will support senior experts, build client relationships, and deliver practical, evidence-based recommendations.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, travel up to 15%, and the ability to work independently and with teams to define technology strategies and improve carrier operations.

Responsibilities

• Support Datos’ senior experts as they advise clients on technology-related issues, building stakeholder relationships and focusing recommendations on client priorities and outcomes.
• Research, analyze, synthesize, and compare information with structured problem-solving to develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
• Explore and identify solutions to client questions using strategic thinking and sound judgement.
• Prepare senior experts to facilitate workshops or speak at events with executive-ready materials.
• Contribute to our library of published information, including best practices and benchmarking reports.
• Drive the vendor selection process by building RFIs and vendor scripts to test solutions against client requirements.
• Work alongside senior staff to deliver strategic consulting projects and help clients define and implement technology strategy.
• Maintain proficiency in insurance operations and supporting technology; identify problems or opportunities.

Datos Insights is an insights and advisory firm providing mission-critical insights on technology, regulations, strategy, and operations to banks, insurers, payments providers, and investment firms—as well as the technology and service providers that support them.

Datos’ Insurance Practice provides research and advisory services to insurer executives, helping them make technology and sourcing decisions, understand innovation and technology trends, and address strategic and operational challenges with clear commercial impact. We deliver our services through published research reports, retained advisory services, and strategy consulting.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of industry expertise at an insurer, or insurance exposure in role(s) at a technology vendor, industry analyst firm, or management consultancy. Specific knowledge of carrier products and operations associated with maintaining these products and services is required.

As an Advisor, you will have a direct impact on the insurance industry. Your work will include:

• Support Datos’ senior experts as they advise clients on complex, technology-related issues. Build strong stakeholder relationships and focus recommendations on client priorities and business outcomes.
• Research, analyze, synthesize, and compare information with structured problem-solving and analytical rigor to fully understand a topic area and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
• Explore and identify solutions to client questions and requests, applying strategic thinking and sound judgement to distinguish practical options from less viable alternatives.
• Prepare senior experts to facilitate and participate in workshops or speak at events on general trends and best practices in key product lines, or deep dives on specific strategic issues, with clear executive-ready materials and presentation support.
• Contribute to our library of published information, including best practices and benchmarking reports.
• Drive the vendor selection process for our clients, including building requests for information based on high level business needs and developing vendor scripts that that test how well solutions fulfill client requirements.
• Working alongside our senior staff, deliver strategic consulting projects, helping key customers define and implement their technology strategy, while maintaining accountability for high-quality, on-time delivery.
• Maintain proficiency in insurance industry business operations and supporting technology. Identify current or future problems or opportunities that clients might face

Requirements:
