Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking an Advisor II in Supply and Exchange to coordinate operations, analyze deal performance, and support negotiations. You will interact with internal teams and external counterparties while ensuring accurate administration of exchange agreements and SAP deal entries.

The role requires experience in energy trading environments and strong analytical and communication skills to optimize costs and improve transparency across the supply book.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience within the Energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing transmix operations including inventory, scheduling liftings, optimizing disposition options, and renegotiating term sale deals.
• Overseeing transloading operations to support optimizing Billings Refinery offtake.
• Supporting Negotiators in monitoring exchange balances and confirming financials.
• Assisting monthly nominations for exchange deals.
• Providing backup coverage for Negotiators with external touchpoints.
• Entering or modifying sale, purchase, or exchange deals in SAP as needed.
• Maintaining Power BI dashboards to summarize deals and performance; improving transparency of the Supply Book.

Advisor II, Supply and Exchange

The (S&E) coordinates various operational and reporting activities and provides analysis to advise the team on deal performance and negotiations. The role is within the US Clean Products VCO team, reporting to the Sr Manager, Supply & Exchange and works regularly to support the Negotiators, Supply & Exchange. The position requires frequent interaction with various internal functions as well as external counterparties.

What You'll Do

• Overseeing transmix operations, which could include managing inventory, scheduling weekly liftings, optimizing between various disposition options, and renegotiating existing term sale deals.
• Overseeing transloading operations, which is currently in support of optimizing Billings Refinery offtake.
• Supporting Negotiators in monitoring and confirming exchange balances which entails financial book outs and bulk paybacks.
• Supporting Negotiators in monthly nominations for exchange deals.
• Providing occasional backup coverage for Negotiators requiring additional external touchpoints with counterparts.
• Support various systems, including:
  • Ship-to, terminal, product, and carrier setups in support of S&E deals.
  • Updating DTN Tabs and allocation to counterparts.
  • Assisting in administration of exchange agreements ensuring correctness and completeness.
  • Entering or modifying sale, purchase, or exchange deals within SAP as needed.
• Advice on reporting, including:
  • Maintenance and enhancement of Power BI dashboards (or equivalent) to assist in summarizing and assessing deals and performance.
  • Supporting efforts to increase Supply Book transparency.
  • Primary and secondary transfer cost auditing, analysis, and optimization.
  • Assisting with capturing and tracking GI value contributions from S&E activities.
• Conduct analysis in support of optimization, including:
  • Reviewing exchange activity, volume trends, and relevant supply book activity and reporting on any anomalies, trends, or opportunities.
  • Actively tracking utilization and profitability of exchanges, term purchase, & sales deals.
  • Identifying additional opportunities that leverage P66's asset base or lower supply cost.
  • Providing negotiations support by analyzing alternatives—both internal to P66 and those of our counterparts—and advising Negotiators as well as participating in negotiation discussions.
  • Assisting with term deal annual reviews and providing ad-hoc analysis as needed.
• In service of the above, develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Commercial, Marketing, VCO, Accounting, Back Office, and F&PA, as well as with external counterparties.

What You'll Bring - Required

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant field
• 3 or more years of experience within the Energy industry

What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred

• 5 or more years of experience in an analytical or operational role(s), supporting Commercial Supply & Trading activity, VCO, Refining, Marketing, or Midstream
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Tableau/Power BI, and Alteryx DV
• Solid financial and economic analysis skills
• Basic understanding of downstream operations, supply chain, and value drivers
• Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proactive thinking, detail-oriented & creative problem-solving skills to support business focused analysis and decisions
• High degree of ethics, personal drive and dedication to achieve team goals and general interest objectives
• Ability to analyze complex data and recommend actions to stakeholders
• Ability to adapt to changing work environments and make continuous improvements

• Ability to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer and willingness to work non-standard hours on occasion

Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $108,900- $133,100.
