Job Summary

The Advisor, Commercial Risk sells new accounts and renews existing accounts in keeping with firm and individual goals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Present proposals professionally, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding.
  • Communicate with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and service team in an articulate and effective manner.
  • Finalize the sale, collect required documents and applications, and brief the service team on the policy sale.
  • Develop prospects by engaging in community affiliations, attending partner‑hosted seminars, building and maintaining industry contacts, networking events, and referrals from current accounts.
  • Develop information and recommendations for prospective accounts, present proposals, and adhere to firm policies and procedures for writing a new account.
  • Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and completion when interacting with current and prospective clients, the firm, and insurance company partners, to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims; demonstrate strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting criteria for represented partners to communicate effectively to all involved.
  • Positively represent the firm in the community and with insurance partners.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by leadership and look for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment, and processes, bringing issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
  • Meet monthly new business goals.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • License(s): Maintain all required state insurance licenses or be willing and able to obtain them within the first 90 days of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate alignment with the firm's core values and culture.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to learn any other relevant software.

Compensation

Starting pay: $100,000+. Salary is negotiable at the time of hire.
