Job description

Position Summary

The Advisor, Commercial Risk sells new accounts and renews existing accounts in alignment with firm and individual objectives. Advisors build and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, the service team, insurance company partners, and centers of influence while identifying and soliciting sales prospects.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Present proposals in a professional manner, reviewing coverages in detail to ensure understanding.
  • Communicate with clients, prospects, insurance company partners, and the service team in an articulate and effective manner.
  • Finalize the sale, collect necessary documents and applications, and brief the service team on the policy sale.
  • Develop prospects through community affiliations, partner-hosted seminars, networking events, and referrals.
  • Develop information and recommendations for prospective accounts, present proposals and adhere to firm policies and procedures for writing new accounts.
  • Maintain accuracy, timeliness and completeness in interactions with clients, the firm, and insurance company partners to minimize errors and omissions risks.
  • Maintain understanding of industry and underwriting criteria of represented insurance company partners to communicate effectively.
  • Positively represent the firm in the community and with insurance partners.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by leadership and seek opportunities to improve processes.
  • Bring issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership and meet monthly new business goals.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Certifications: None required or preferred.
  • Licenses: Maintain all required state insurance licenses or be willing to obtain within the first 90 days.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrate core values with behavior aligned with the firm’s culture.
Technical Skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn other relevant software systems.
